Jackson Hole is known for its steep terrain, consistent fall line and deep, light powder. Half the runs are reserved for experts, with the bulk of the remaining runs for intermediate skiers and 10 percent set aside for beginners. Skiers have two mountains here -- Apres Vous and Rendezvous -- and 2,500 acres of terrain. In addition to downhill, heli- and Nordic skiing and snowboarding, winter sports enthusiasts can indulge in dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobile tours and sleigh rides. Two great U.S. national parks -- Grand Teton and Yellowstone -- are a day trip away. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is about 14 miles from Jackson Hole Airport, 92 miles from Idaho Falls Regional Airport and 307 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport.
